Comments :
In front of a bumper New Years Day Harriers battled came from behind to defeat a gallant City. City took the lead mid-way through the first half as Junior English found space in the Harriers box, firing low in to the bottom corner. The second half started with Harriers flying out of the blocks and City sat too deep: Harriers finally broke through in the 60th minute through McQuilkin. Francis-Angol burst down the left and fired the ball across the goal, the clearing header fell to Man of the Match McQuilkin who poked home. Still City sat deep hoping to catch Kiddy on the break. The decider then came on the 79th minute as Austin fired in a low cross from the right. Sam Oji, City's best player, stooped to try and clear but directed the ball towards his own goal, beating Ross down low to the left. There was still time for Lee Hughes to get sent off for another violent outburst and for City to have a penalty claim turned down City as Chekaine Steele was seemingly tripped in the Harriers box, but the referee waved away the protests.
