Comments :
Gutted at the postponement of Tranmeres away game at Woking which threatens my 100% attendence following them this season i looked at the fixture possibilities of which i considered here or the long haul back up to Alloa for their cup game v Dumfermline which ended (2-3). The weather and the fact i''ve been knackered for weeks helped choose this game. I had nearly gone to the cup match v Wimbledon but at one point they stated no on the day admission so had left it. I was a neutral but pre match erred towards AFC Fylde with ex rover Challinor their manager and having loaned winger Stephenson to them, other factors included their home kit being white and the pleasent experience of my visit to mill farm earlier in the season when they impressed for long periods in their 5-0 win over Staylebridge. Before the game i did my usual and took a few pictures inside and outside the ground but was approached by an over zelous steward who asked if i had a licence to take the pics, to which i replied i didn''t think i needed one at this level to which he then asked if they were for personal use before getting on his comms to relay my affirmation. Next stop was the prog shop were i mentioned the story and was told by two officials photos weren''t a problem but the stewards where from Altrincham so not used to Curzons hospitalities, they also hoped my visit would bring them luck. The next disappointment was to find out stephenson was out injured although the fan i asked hadn''t been impressed by him. Fylde had the majority of possession in the first half and went ahead with a fine curling shot into the far corner at the car park end by Daniels. Curzon did have their chances but their quickfire double scored inside two minutes approaching halftime surprised most, firstly a neat ball into the box was squared for a tap in by Cummins and secondly a ball over the top through the middle left a one v one forWarburton to slot past the advancing keeper HT 2-1. The second half was a definate improvement in quality and great credit must go to Curzon who raised their game and dominated for long periods however Fylde equlised wagainst the run of play with a fine shot which just beat the outstretched fingers of the keeper and went in off the underside of the crossbar. Unabated Curzon continued to press and scored their winner when a poor backpass fell short and Hall beat the keeper to slide the ball home. Fylde pressed for five minutes but curzon soaked up the pressure before again finishing strongly happy to waste time in the corner. The Fylde supporter i spoke to admitted they were poor on the day but i must say i was glad Curzon won on the day as it was all their performance deserved.
