Again due to being at Uni in Birmingham, this was a fairly obvious away match to attend.
I was picked up by my Dad and his friends and made the short trip over to the Black Country. We found a pub in the Bilston area, which was fairly nice, as all the pubs on the main approach to the town had looked awful.
We ended up parking in a multi-storey right across the road from the ground, which seemed a good idea at first but meant that we had to wait forever to leave at the end.
Again, like virtually all the Big Midlands teams, the ground was pretty modern and impressive. City had been allocated the whole lower tier of one of the side stands, which was fairly unusual. We had the usual "ooar, it's ambrose!" chants directed at us from one of the ends.
We never do well against Wolves. I can only recall us beating them once. We had lost 1-6 to them earlier in the season and we didn't look much better in this game.
Some sloppy defending and disastrous miskick by Steve Phillips (albeit not helped by a very rutted pitch) from a Vilmos Sebok backpass ensured we had another miserable day in our brief stay in Division 1, losing 3-0.
