Plymouth away on a cold Tuesday night in December was the next trip in the campaigh to follow our beloved Birmingham City and complete the 92 !!
A birthday treat for young Marc who was to be 23 the next day.
The Fletcher brothers started off by trying to go the adam and eve for a couple but due to the pub not being open yet and it raining they had a walk to the Clements Arms, a bang on the door and the pub was soon open and the beer flowing. Selfy soon caught the lads up and to celebrate just over a year since his backward gambole in Newcastle treated himself to a bottle of Newcastle brown ale. A couple of drinks and up to the ground to begin the mission journey.
Off went Marc to get a bottle of jd (the p*ss head) while Fletch and Joe boarded the coach. Marc arrived not long before the coach was due to depart and managed to get on the same coach as the lads (he had a coach ticket for the other coach) due to a few spares spaces. The lads set off, oasis and killers on the ipod, Fletch was happy !!
A couple of hours in the lads arrived at the services, a KFC for the Fletcher brothers, a sandwich for Joe and the lads strength up and the final part of the journey in front of them.
The lads arrived with about a hour to spare before kick off, a quick fag for Marc and Joe and in the ground for beers they went. A beer in and Marc the addicted smoker needed some Nicotine so against better advise went the toilet for a quick ''puff'' !! Unsurprisingly the job centre regular was caught ad Fletch and Joe looked over to notice him pleading his case, he managed to talk his walk out of it and not get kicked out before kick off however, he was warned ''YOUR BEING WATCHED !!''
A couple more beers, no more fags and in to the ground for the game !! Not the biggest away following but the section fairly full so the lads grabbed a couple of seats at the front. Not a great half as Plymouth created some good openings but could not find the breakthrough, not much from the visitors and the first half ended goalless !!
A beer each at half time, another snidey fag for Marc that he got away with, a little bit clevery this time backhanding it by the lads and out for the second half.
The second half began and Blues where better pressing forward. Just before the hour mark and great run and shot from Quincy bounced off the bar and was cleared. The resulting corner however was took short and played back to Lee Carsley on the edge off the box who smashed home hard and low in to the bottom corner for his Blues goal. The fans erupted, Fletch went for a run, Marc jumped in the air and Joe flung over a couple of seats to celebrate. Marcs promise to run on the pitch was not lived out and the lads where save.
Fletch decided the lads needed to go to the back off the stand after the goal as Marc was a little over excited, the lads headed to the back where Marc could have a fag and began to ask how long was left several times, the lads pointed out there was a good 20 minutes or so left and there was still a lot of work to do. Thankfully the work was done and Blues hung on for a priceless 3 points !!
The lads headed back to the coach and enjoyed taunting the home fans on the way back !!
On the way home the lads had to stop at the services for 45 minutes which was a joke. After Marc asking if Joe went to Barnsley 2 years ago 63 times, what time Chris has work 36 time and what time Carsley scored 999999999 times the lads arrived back around 2:15am. A taxi home for Joe and a walk to there respective house for the Fletchers and another succesfull away trip was complete !!
