In a dull encounter between two poor teams, Boston United secured all three points after scoring twice in the first half. The Pilgrims opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after Ebby Nelson-Addy was wrongly adjudged to have fouled Harry Vince for a penalty. Adam Chapman stepped up and slotted the ball home. City were then gifted an opportunity to equalise in the 27th minute as Ebby Nelson-Addy was fouled in the Boston area. Jordan Murphy stepped up and his low penalty was saved by Ross Durrant, but the ball squirmed back to Murphy eight yards out with the keeper prostrate, somehow he managed to hit the cross bar and Boston smuggled the ball away. Boston then doubled their lead just before half time, directly from a free kick. A wrongly positioned wall meant that Briscoe could place the ball into the corner. City failed to create a chance in the second half and Boston were happy to boot the ball to kingdom come!
