Bromsgrove Sporting continued their winning run with a 2-1 victory over Uttoxeter Town at the Victoria Ground. Sporting took the lead in the 7th minute when John Pykett converted at the far post from a Tom Craine cross from the left hand side. Uttoxeter equalised in the 27th minute with a fine individual goal from Ollie Ritchie giving debutant keeper Steve Grogan no chance. Four minutes later the Rouslers were down to 10 men when striker Luke Shorthouse was shown a red card for a challenge on Tom Morgan. Immediately manager Paul Smith sacrificed scorer Pykett, and brought on striker Jason Cowley.
The game looked like it was likely to be heading for a draw, but Bromsgrove conjured up a winner from Sam Wills in the 79th minute when the midfielder picked the ball up on the edge of the area and fizzed a shot into the far corner of the net.
The excellent crowd of 680 were thanked for their continued support: a slap in the face in the light of a 25% price increase for next season's tickets.
