Paget Rangers were promoted to MFL Division 1 after a tense 98 minutes in Boldmere. A 2-1 win over Coton Green sprung the Bears into second place, but it didn't come easy. Paget cruised into a two goal lead inspired by right back Billy Fagg. Paget took the lead after nine minutes when Fagg dispossessed the Green left back, before sending a low cross into Carter who chipped it into the net. Soon they were two up: Jeorge Smith played the ball down the right to Fagg, who brilliantly crossed it into the path of Ross Dempster who headed the ball past the hapless Coton goalkeeper. Coton dragged themselves back into it, Yonwin scoring direct from a free kick with the keeper badly placed. The second half was tense with apoplexy reigning on the Paget bench. Coton had the best chances andvshould have equalised. but after 6 added minutes, the referee finally blew the whistle and the celebrations could begin.
