Bromsgrove Sporting finished their away league campaign in style when they came away from the Pingles Stadium, home of Nuneaton Griff, with an emphatic 5-0 victory.
Sporting had a few scares in the early exhanges as Nuneaton created a couple of chances, with one being cleared off the line and another hitting the post, but as the half wore on the Rouslers started to take control and it was no surprise when top-scorer Jason Cowley found the net with a sublime chip from an acute angle after winger John Pykett had put him through. Cowley added a second four minutes before the break to give Bromsgrove a 2-0 half time lead. He might have had a first half hat trick had not an audacious lob from fully 50 yards not been saved.
Chances went a begging in the second half, and another goal line clearance from Luke Edwards denied Griff. But Bromsgrove then went barmy in the last 5 minutes or so. Substitute Chris Conway got his first of the night in the 87th minute when he finished from the edge of the area, then young startlet Alfie Bloomer added a fourth 2 minutes later latching onto a through ball which was too strong for keeper George Westwood to keep out. Finally it was Conway again a minute into time added on with a left foot drive from the left hand side of the penalty area.
