Comments :
Malvern, devoid of many players were dumped out the Smedley Crooke Cup by Bewdley Town, despite going in front. The first thirty minutes were competitive and in the 28th minute Paul Edwards played the ball to Dave Reynolds who volleyed the ball from outside the box, it hit the post and rolled into the net. In the 40th minute a long ball was played towards Malvern's box. Confusion between Jamie Smith, & Charlie Weaver allowed Callum Martin to squeeze between the two and slot the ball home. Two minutes into the second period Sam Lester sent in a cross cum shot and which, with the help of the wind found its way into the net. Three minutes later it was 1-3 when the ball was played to Cory-Jay Rudd who struck the ball which took a nasty bounce just in front of Weaver. Malvern pulled a goal back after 63 minutes when Josh Weatherby crossed the ball, it was headed down by Reynolds and Matthew Turner was at the back post to slide the ball home. However, the 2 goal lead was restored three minutes later when substitute Matt Kerby hit a shot cum cross which hit the post and went in. Malvern were unable to raise their game and with no fit substitutes had to bring on reserve goalkeeper, Joshua King, to play outfield, replacing the injured Weatherby.
