The Alexandra Stadium, or Gresty Rd as it''s known, is located just on the outskirts of the town wedged in between Crewe railway station and Gresty Rd, a residential street. If you like football but don''t like to travel too far move to Gresty Rd. This is literally football in the community. The approach to the stadium is more or less dominated by the sight of the huge Main stand, which even from the outside clearly dwarfs the other 3 stands. Away fans tickets are dispensed from a fantastic brick built turnstile enclosure.
End of season 16/17- Crewe eventually finished 17th with 55 points. Plymouth finished 2nd on 87 and were promoted to League One along with Portsmouth, Doncaster and Blackpool.
