Number 28. Hang on, this aint Doncaster! At 12pm we we scheduled to be going to Doncaster against Reading. Alec had bought his train tickets and was waiting for his train to Sutton. It had been snowing so i just decided to check the club website for any changes. And there it was! Game Postponed. I checked the fixtures and found out that Sheffield Wednesday against Yeovil was still on. I checked out where we could park and all that and then headed to the station to pick Alec up. Alec had decided to pick up a Turkish immigrant who could speak a word of the queens and was trying to find Sutton town centre. Knowing that he was about 2 miles from the centre i took him in to town. We raced up the M1 and parked at Meadowhall where we were able to get a tram to Hillsborough. The snow then hit Sheffield! We got to Hillsborough after what seemed like a eternity. We got to the groung and as the game had already kicked off we got tickets for the nearest stand - which was the Yeovil end. This turned out to be a good idea as it was bloody freezing and we were able to stand and move around. Yeovil took the lead and led 1-0 at the break. As we had been in a rush we had not been to the bank to get any money for half time snacks. This was probably the worst time to be without a hot drink. The second half was much better for Wednesday and they were able to turn the game around and won 2-1. By full time the snow had come down very thick. We managed to get the tram back to Meadowhall pretty quick. I dropped Alec off back at Sutton station before heading back home with some chips!
An eventful afternoon which turned out ok seeing as we due to be somewhere else!
