TOTAL VISITS 1 TRANMERE VISITS PLD 1 W1 D0 L0 GF1 GA0. Just under 500 brave away souls made the crazy early start to get to maidstone for the 12.15 ko, impressive in any context but more so with the coach departing at 05.30AM(i had to get up at 04.15) but also as it was considered to be 'a dead rubber game' wholesale changes had been advertised to save the first team for the upcoming play offs. Basically the youth team had been picked with 9 debutant starters in the starting line up and three more coming off the bench. A solid performance from all followed and Ilesami scored the only goal in the second half for the win. For me the tranmere keeper Pilling was man of the match with a number of impressive saves. The attendance was a new home record for the ground by just short of 400 and the staff were a credit to their club particularly one steward who went out of his way to make us all feel welcome. I had been worried about the view as i'd heard the away fans had no elevated views but we shared the new stand behind the goal, it was bizarre- a covered terrace but still felt claustrophobic as for every two steps their was a barrier however the view was better than expected. The other noticable thing was our drummers and buggler ended up right next to me which unsurprisingly was noisey! The only disappointment was how they choose to embrase some home fans and make an effort to be friendly whilst choosing which fans to try and wind up(this was the latter)
