Match no. 1236. Stevenage all but ensured their League Two status with this win. Dagenham & Redbridge were relegated after losing at Leyton Orient and York City are now 12 points behind with only 4 games left, and with a much inferior goal difference. Boro played well in the first-half to go 2-0 ahead but were awful after the break. Newport sneaked a goal back with 3 minutes to go (while I was in the loo!) leading to a nervous 6 minutes of added time. But Boro held on reasonably comfortably in the end, and went above Newport in the table into the bargain! 50 years ago today: Match no. 16 - West Ham 2-1 Arsenal at Upton Park.
