A surprisingly straightforward trip from my Cambridgeshire home to Derby via A1/A52 on a Sunday afternoon. I planned my parking location prior to travelling and parked off an Industrial Estate in Downing Road. A short walk of approx 10 mins brought me to the stadium giving me plenty of time to capture everything on film all around the ground .
Although imposing I was disappointed of the lack of character the stadium had outside (although great statue of Clough/Taylor) and after a complete walk around I was pleased to find a Subway outlet right next to the ground.
Impressive inside the ground and I was fairly pleased with my seat.I always like to get into grounds early and take in the build up. As this was the first game of the season the anticipation of fans is a pleasure to hold and you can sense that with the Derby fans as ko approaches.
The game itself is not that bad. Derby taking a undeserved lead through a penatly scored by Johnny Russell and just when it looked like Blackburn were going to come away with nothing,Leon Best struck with a half volley to send the Blackburn faithful home happy while the Derby fans bemoaning ''different season same s**t.
Exit from the ground and my parking location was surprisingly easy and now I have been once this is a ground that I could easily see me visiting again
