TOTAL VISITS 2 TRFC VISITS W2 D0 L0 GF4 GA2. Arrived early enough to look around town. As for the game it wasn''t great, both sets of fans had a drum and were intent on making noise but being adjacent to each other it was all white noise in amongst the kids slating each other. The game was pretty much the same all huff and puff with no real quality. The game needed to slow down the ball was in the air too much and long aimless passes going nowhere. An early scare for rovers came when Buxtons header back found a stone''s striker with only Davies to beat but hit his shot wide. A silly free kick lead to the opening goal slightly controversially as maidstone took it quick and gave it away only for the Ref to let them retake it eventually the ball was scrambled home at the third attempt. Rovers equalised when a cross slipped under a defenders foot and found cook in space to slot home from six yards. From the kick off rovers went behind again from the penalty spot after a soft shove at the by line. Ht 2-1. Second half followed the same ugly pattern rovers equalised from another scramble that went down as an og before scoring a late penalty of their own to turn things around. With just three minutes to play things looked bright but the Ref totally lost the plot. I believe 4mins added time was shown and over eight played, he gave a series of dubious free kicks on the edge of the box and couldn''t pace out the distance resulting in norburn being booked for complaining. Maidstone keeper came up for the last five minutes and another free kick awarded. The refs idea of measuring the distance was to run into the box and spray a crooked line with the magic spray on the run. As much as he tried he couldn''t fashion an equaliser and eventually had to blow his whistle. We won ugly, Maidstone weren''t great but could feel aggrieved by the final score for no reward for all their efforts
