Comments :
I set off at 1330 and ate my lunch in a lay by on the A15. A police car pulled up a speeding car shortly afterwards. The female passenger kept getting her children out as if to try and make a point. Silly woman. If you speed expect to pay the consequences! I arrived at Lincoln United and parked in a small car park and realised the only money I had was change. I had £9.97 so as I walked up to the turnstile I was hoping it was not going to be £10 to get in. It was my lucky day because it was £9. The match kicked off in freezing conditions and I was surprised how good the two teams were on a clogged up pitch. The rain started and then got very heavy. Pontefract took the lead. I was sat in an old stand which probably had about 200 seats. Next to a few old men. I felt at home! Second half Lincoln United equalised and then scored a winner. I was desperate to get back to my car by then as it had continued to remain extremely cold. It was disappointing to hear that Grimsby Town had lost 2-0 at Crewe but the focus on Radio Humberside was Scunthorpe’s shambolic performance at home losing 4-1 against Plymouth. I have decided these little trips to non league clubs are well worth the effort.
