Rain rain go away come back another day! And today was the day. Having been to Dover twice with rovers I opted out of a long good Friday trip this time even having been offered a lift from a mate I play footy with which was just as well as the game was called off at 1.30 Just as the fans arrived. Typical add that to other arduous trips to the likes of Colchester and Braintree that befell the same result in years gone by. Having scoured the fixtures I had a few options including a return to Dublin but last week''s fruitless trip was still too fresh in the memory. I decided to try and do a double header of brackley on the Friday and Leamington on the Saturday whilst staying at my dad''s near Milton Keynes, arriving early I headed straight to the clubhouse for the toilet and bought a programme from behind the barbut when I tried to leave the building I found myself locked in. I had a quick word with the bar staff and was told you normally enter after going through the turnstile so I exited pitchside had a mooch in the shop before going to the turnstile and having to ask the gateman how much to get in(£12) from inside the ground lol. Dave, editor of the tranmere fanzine always says you have to ask how much it is to get out of the ground at rovers haha. As far as 0-0 draws go this was relitevly entertaining but the incessant rain threatened the game and turned the pitch into a bog whilst probably contributed to the smell as if a sewer had overflowed nearby. The harrogate keeper was my man of the match with a string of saves and brackley also had a strong shout for a pen turned down. During the match I was talking to a Kettering fan who was there doing the stats for opts. Hopefully the weather won''t effect Saturday''s game. Finally I heard that this was the first time harrogate had failed to score this season and the draw had extended brackley unbeaten home record to 13 months although I haven''t researched those facts to verify this.
