Left home in Chester at about 16:45 and walked to Chester station. Got the 17:21 train to Manchester Oxford Road station and changed for a train to Salford Crescent station. Walked to the bus stop and got the 95 bus to the end of Moor Lane and got to the ground at about 19:10. Nice ground which I would've expected given the amount of money placed in the club by the Class of 92. Stood behind the goal the whole game with programme seller Bob. The game itself was a dreadful one for a number of reasons. Firstly, we were dreadful. We could not string more than two passes together and just kept attempting to lump the ball forward without any presence up top. Salford opened the scoring after about 15 mins after our defence switched off and the ball was eventually at the feet of the Salford striker who lifted it over Worner to make it 1-0 Salford. The rest of the half was a dull affair with neither side really taking the game by the scruff of the neck but when Salford got hold of the ball they did play some really nice football. Another reason why the game was dreadful was because the referee was an absolute joke and gave a foul agaisnt us every time the ball was challenged in the air. Salford went in at HT 1-0 up. The second half wasn't much different apart from the fact that we dominated the ball but just didn't do anything with it. Salford doubled their lead on about 55 mins from a free kick that was in no way a free kick. It was played into the box and tapped home by their CB. The rest of the game, Salford were happy to just sit and let us have the ball considering that we couldn't do anything with it. After the game got an Uber back to Manchester Oxford Road station and got the 22:15 train home getting back home at about 23:45.
