Cracking game for a 0-0 draw. Left home with Dad at about 12:15 and walked to Streatham Common station. Got the train to Clapham Junction and then changed to get the train to Chertsey. The ground was about 10 mins walk from the station and we got to the ground at about 14:10. Stood along half way line with Dad. The 1st half was an open affair with Northwich Victoria looking like the better side with more chances but no clear cut ones. The second half was a much more one sided affair with Chertsey looking the much fitter side and moved the ball about incredibly well for a side in the 5th tier of non league. They deserved to win the game in normal time but just couldn't get the ball past the Northwich keeper and kill them off. The game then went into extra time, with Chertsey again producing chances in the 1st half but not converting them. The second half of extra time was a cagey event as both sides probably didn't want to lose it at the end and wanted to rely on the lottery of penalties. Northwich missed their second penalty and all other penalties were scored and Chertsey went through winning 5-3 on penalties. Left the ground at about 17:45 and walked back to the station getting the 18:10 train back to Clapham Junction changing for Streatham Common and getting home at 19:30.
