Tranmere eased through 2-1 on aggregate, helped considerably by Forest Green having a player sent off in each leg of this tie. Tranmere successfully ''engineered'' both dismissals. This evening it was James Norwood deliberately running into Winchester who was already on a yellow, to do the business. Jay Harris tried but failed to get opponents in the ref''s notebook all night long, having succeeded in the first leg by feining serious injury after kicking his hapless victim. The better side went through, but the ref''s inability to spot Tranmere''s periodic dirty tricks, in both legs, cost FGR dearly. Big support from Merseyside. Enjoyed their rendition of Tequila, and the giant inflatable melon. Manager is Micky Mellon! Saw Mike Dean outside the ground before kick-off. The Ground: It''s up a steep hill, and there appears to be only one road in and one road out, unless you live in the villages west of the ground. Street parking is possible. Car Park is small and was full by 90 minutes before kick-off. Tidy ground with trees on two sides and a field full of sheep visible above the West Terrace. The low summer sun made viewing difficult for first half hour. Enjoyed the Veggie Burger, but not the 25 minute queue to get it. Not struck with the choice of milk for my coffee: soya or oat drink.
