I was feeling horrible when I started - heavy cold/cough - but I'd bought the tickets and the sun was shining. Train one to Crewe on time but next into Euston late by 15 minutes meaning a rush and finally a run to catch the train out of Victoria. But I made it (sweaty!!) and a gentle walk through the leafy suburbs of Bromley to the ground. It's in fields. Even a couple of horses grazing out in front. But inside quite developed with the new big stand sitting proud behind the south end goal. And the clubhouse was excellent: noisy but casual and friendly.
The pitch is plastic but somehow played a lot better than Oxford City. That said, the game was not great. In fact pretty poor mostly and the second half particularly scrappy. How Bromley sit atop the table I cannot fathom. I'm sure I've seen better in this league and even the one below but sounds like they scratch our results and that's what counts.
I left a bit early so I could stroll back to the station and all was calm and easy all the way home.
A good day but not one the best. However, I would definitely be a regular there if I lived in the area. It felt like a very vibrant club. So happy smile.
