Persistence paid off eventually! Originally looked at this fixture last season but decided to do the Oldham v Tranmere game due to the away section being relocated to the opposite end of the ground however the game was postponed due to the weather but it was too risky and a bit late to change plans. That Forfar game was played in the snow. It looked like fortune favoured me at the end of the season when the teams met again in the play offs on a blank Saturday but a close family member was seriously ill in hospital having an operation so that was that. Today Tranmere where at roots hall one of my least favourite grounds so the decision was made, but again things wouldn''t go smoothly! The M6 was closed for the weekend from Blackpool to Lancaster with diversions but the worst thing was the news a few weeks prior to say Forfar didn''t have any form of match programme printed or digital this season GUTTED. I had to settle for the free team sheet (teamlines in Scotland). Called in to revisit the Dundee grounds but I got a bit worried when told the Dundee v Ayr game was off with a waterlogged pitch, one of a number of postponements on a wet and windy Saturday but the 3G pitch at station park saved the day. As I was wearing my Raith shirt I planned to mull around the away fans but segregation was in place due to some animosity over that play off game and a small police presence was visible outside the ground. As a wanted to visit the club shop and take a few pictures it had to be the home end. Spoke to a Doncaster fan and the tannoy said their was someone from Norwich here. I bought a steak pie and a Forfar bridie putting the former in my pocket when a ball landed at my feet, bending down to pick it up I didn''t realise i''d squashed the pie in my pocket creating a right mess what else could go wrong lol. Forfar took an early lead Forbes heading home after a cross went past the keeper and challenging player. Second half Raith equalised at the same end with another headed goal from Baird and the same player also hit the post. Overall I thought a draw was fare with the home side shading the first half and the away team the second. The club were kind enough to send me a copy of the play off programme from the end of the previous season which I was grateful to have.
