Left the house in Chester at about 18:00 with Charlie and walked to Bache station. Got the 18:33 train and got off at Rock Ferry walking about 20 mins to get to the ground. Got to the ground at about 19:20 and queued up to get into the ground. We were sat towards the back end of the kop. The game itself was pretty much a one sided affair throughout with Watford playing a very inexperienced side who did not look like they were up for the game at all. Tranmere had one or two chances in the first 30 mins but nothing clear cut. They deservedly took the lead around about half an hour through the game through Monthe with a lovely volley from a corner that went in off the post. Tranmere continued to dominated the game and should''ve added a second before HT. Tranmere continued to be the better side in the second half but didn''t create any chances of merit. Watford then equalised following a right ping-pong in the Tranmere box from a corner before they managed to put it in. Tranmere then pushed for a winner but apart from a chance for Danns in the last minute they didn''t create too many chances. The game went into extra time with not much happening until Tranmere took the lead about 1 mins before ET HT. Tranmere manged to hold out and probably deserved to extend their lead. We left the ground and walked back to Rock Ferry. We got the 23:00 train back to Bache and walked home getting back at about 23:45.
