A game of two halves. I had looked at the Congleton v Burscough game but couldn''t establish if they had a programme so chose this game. A dozen teenagers high on energy drinks and weed did there best to ruin the game constantly swearing at the away players warming up and swearing in general, amazingly they were rewarded with free scarfs and a bell to make more noise. The away side controlled the first half with the skem keeper saving a one on one before fortunately escaping after spilling a shot but after fumbling another one shortly after Penistone were more clinical and soon added a second before half time. The half time rollicking did the trick and skem pulled one back early on before equalising from the penalty spot. Penistone then hit the bar and had a mad scramble in the aftermath but the comeback was complete with a third about eight minutes from time a looping header being bundled over the line with the home keeper sprinting the length of the pitch to join in the celebrations. One of the mischievous kids also ran on the pitch which was probably the reason an official came over to them shortly afterwards a said thanks lads you''ve just cost me £1000! The programme was advertised as £2 but was sold for a pound on the night because the printers supposedly mucked up some of the pictures.
