Went with Dad for the last game before the 'month' long lockdown. Left home at about 18:20 and drove down to the ground getting there at about 19:20. The game was a re-arranged FA Trophy game and both sides played some decent football at a good pace. After about the first 5-10 mins, Carshalton took control of the game and dominated proceedings whipping the ball around well. They opened the scoring after about 20 mins through an own goal which was quite comical after bouncing and rebounding off a number of players before going into the back of the net. About 10 mins later they doubled their lead through a set piece that was headed back into their own box by a Merstham player before being slotted home to make it 0-2. Carshalton continued to dominate the rest of the 1st half and probably could've extended their lead. The second half wasn't as good a half as the first. Merstham had the most of the ball and would've got back into the game if it hadn't been for their woeful finishing in the final third. Carshalton added a third in the 70th min through lovely wing play before squaring it for the no. 9 to tap it in. They could've added to their total in the final 20 mins had they not hit the post and the Merstham keeper pulling off a few good saves. Merstham got a consolation goal in the 90th min through a corner with the game finishing 1-3 and Carshalton progressing through to face Barking in the next round. Got back in the car and got home at about 22:20.
