First game back after the 2nd national lockdown and the first game back at Sutton since February because of the lifting of restrictions of fans returning to 'elite' football games. Left home at about 13:30 and walked to Tooting station where I got the train to West Sutton. Got to the ground at about 14:15 and had some time to kill with no programme to read. In the first half, I stood behind the goal at the Collingwood Road end of the ground. Sutton started the game well and played with a high press as we have this season. Solihull couldn't manage with the high press and after about 20 mins we took the lead through a shot from Olaofe which hit the post and bounced off the goalkeepers back into the net. A deserved lead which could've been extended not long after as Eastmond had two speculative shots in a short period which forced 2 good saves out of the Solihull keeper. We eventually extended our lead just before HT, after a mazy run from Ajiboye which fell into the bath of Sho-Silva who tucked it home to make it 2-0. After HT though, Solihull got one back within 2 mins of HT and it looked like it was going to be a difficult second half but after 5-10 mins of Solihull pressure we took control of the game again and extended our lead around 70 mins through Ajiboye who rounded the keeper to tuck it home to make it 3-1. The win was sealed 5 mins from time after some lovely wing play from Simpson before he hit a shot which flew into the back of the net. Overall, the result was fair and we look like we could challenge anyone in this league if we can sustain the high energy football that we've been playing so far this season. Got the train back to Tooting and got back home at about 17:50.
