Comfortable win for Solihull in awful conditions. I don't like artificial pitches but this one didn't play too badly, and after a lot of unrelenting rainfall, it did guarantee the game was played.
Small ground but tidy, with a fair amount of cover, and not bad for a National League South side. Clubhouse was helpfully spacious, and on the day those with an online match ticket were served with a free pint! The food hut wasn't able to cope with the crowd (600) and the queue was long and slow-moving, so I was unable to get fed.
Friendly staff and home supporters. Went on the Moors' supporters coach and met a few fans on the bus and in the ground. Moors were always on top, even without their talisman, Jamie Osborne, and led 3-0 at half-time, stretched to 5-0 by the 51st minute. Moors eased off the gas and conceded a late and unstoppable direct free-kick. James Ball was credited with a hat-trick and later with 4 goals, McCallum getting the other.
All in all a good day-out in spite of the weather.
