Went as games on the weekend just gone had been postponed. Left home just before 18:00 and walked to Tooting Station. The forecast was for thundery showers and when arriving at Wimbledon to change trains the heavens opened up for about 5 mins. Luckily there was no more rain for the rest of the night. At Wimbledon I got a train to Thames Ditton station and then took the 10 mins walk to the ground. The ground is a nice, standard non-league ground with a grandstand on the touchline and behind one of the goals a covered terrace. The game itself was a competitive and entertaining one with both sides giving it 100% and Wimbledon missing a number of chances in the first half with chances just going a whisker wide on a number of occasions. The first 15 mins of the second half was much the same with both sides hitting the woodwork a fair few times in the opening 60 mins. With about 30 mins left, Wimbledon made a number of changes bringing on young academy players which killed the flow of the game a bit. With about 10-15 mins left, Wimbledon won a penalty and converted to make it 0-1. That was how the game ended with Wimbledon having a few chances to double their lead. I then walked back to Thames Ditton station and got the train to Wimbledon. Instead of waiting for a train to Tooting I got the 57 bus home getting in at about 22:40.
