One of 27 people on the official supporters coach heading North on another cold wet and windy winters day. Arrived to here the disappointing news there wouldn''t be a programme apparently due to a mix up at the printers, i uploaded the cover from their previous home league game verses Gateshead instead. According to the PA announcer the management team and ownership had changed after their last game in which three players were sent off so that probably didn''t help. Spennymoor created and wasted plenty of chances and won many corners but Chester were unlucky not to take the lead when Dudley attempted lob was just about fingertipped onto the bar. The deadlock was broken in fortunate fashion when in the last minute of the first half a header from the hosts hit a post and went in off the keeper. The lead was doubled in the second half before a double substitution inspired comeback as ex Tranmere player Stephenson pulled one back before Chester equalised. Parity didn''t last long as just when you thought Chester were getting the upper hand a neat back header restored advantage for the hosts not long after the equaliser. Five added minutes gave some gloss on the score with a second glancing header completing the scoring 4-2. Goals: Gray (og) 45, Spokes 68, Taylor 86 & 90+2 Stephenson 77, and Oyibo 84 for Chester.
