Had thought about going to Golcar but agreed to drive Tony to this one. The game went ahead despite a heavy boggy pitch very muddy after heavy rain. Pilkington took the lead with a similar goal to one i saw at Matlock last week, a lob to the back post but Bacup scored with two cutbacks hit home from close range and a piledriver from twenty yards also cannoned back of the upright. HT 2-1. The third came when a shot was deflected towards the keeper with little power but a complacent glove on a greasy ball wasn''t good enough to the derision of the home fans behind the goal. A fourth was headed home after a shot had been tipped onto the bar and only the striker reacted and the last goal came from the penalty spot. Pilks also had a shot hit the crossbar. The home side seemed a bit nasty particularly the no7 who goaded the keeper for some time after his mistake and should have been booked for a late challenge near the end but for a lenient referee. The no3 also seemed dirty particularly first half.
