Comments :
Poor quality game that looked odds on to finish goalless until the last ten minutes when the visitors were awarded a harsh penalty. I was fairly confident it would be missed and nearly joked as such to a Newcastle sub warming up in front of me but didn''t. Sure enough one of the weakest efforts straight down the middle. The game, a local derby postponed from New year was a bad tempered affair with lots of amateur dramatics from the kick off from both sides and a melee after the final whistle with countless free kicks in-between. However most of the action came after the penalty miss, Newcastle shaded possession both sides had created the odd half chance but the deadlock was finally broken from a corner and a thumping finish. Not sure the official amount of injury time but the home keeper was up the other end of the pitch for the second time when a corner was headed back across the six yard box and another glancing header giving the hosts a point. It was a cold icy evening and the best of the rest in terms of chances where in the last ten minutes. Online only programme non downloadable from issu.
