A fortunate conversation with a stranger at Ely city a month ago lead to a generous offer of two tickets and hospitality to this game. Drove to the game with my dad and managed to get parking. Weather was rainy on arrival but dried up later, good seats near the halfway line and good company. Neither set of fans fancied their chances as the hosts didn''t have a recognised striker and several owls fans said they were playing awful stuff. The away side went two goals up with the aid of a highly dubious penalty but a fine strike after an inital parry from the keeper before a late cross was turned home at the back post. The home crowd raised their voices but the team try as they might couldn''t find a winner with Wednesday having a glorious chance or two to win it themselves.
