Drove to the game and had time for a quick look around town including picking up some famous mint cake. With Kendal struggling the away fans seemed to out number their counter parts and made some noise in the first half. Their team seemed to shade things in the first 45 with a 10th minute strike low from 12 yards but the hosts equalised when a free kick bounced past an unsighted keeper. Unfortunately as i was reporting the equaliser on WhatsApp i missed the visitors winner as they went straight up the other end straight from kick off to restore their advantage. The goal for Kendal went down to Wraighte whilst the no10 was not listed in the prog for Mossley but the Npl had it down as Fawns with Banister scoring the winner. Kendal also hit the outside of the post with a speculative long range volley before the break. The second half was scrappy, half the away fans seemed to stay in the clubhouse and their was a police presence at the end of the game. Both teams huffed and puffed but their was a distinct lack of quality. Lots of free kicks given in prime positions on the edge of the box but none finding their targets with most fired into the wall. Mossley became increasingly cynical with a weak referee failing to penalise constant time wasting, kicking the ball away at every discrepancy going unpunished. Kendal had a strong shout for a penalty turned down resulting in a melee. The most entertaining moment of the second half was by the customary non league dog in this case a Daschund on a long leash who ran up and down the perimeter fence fascinated by the ball play and eager to join in. £9 to get in and £3 for a bowl of Irish stew and some buttered baguette.
