Not a new ground for me but the first home game witnessed for Bootle. I had previously seen former and future tenants City of Liverpool play an FA cup game here. Both teams had their chances first half but i felt Clitheroe looked more dangerous in front of goal right up until Bootle took the lead with a shot which the keeper could only parry onto the underside of the crossbar and over the line. (HOLLAND). Clitheroe equalised through (CANE) from a three way goalmouth scramble. Second half the hosts upped the tempo and gained the upper hand until (EDWARDS) cut in from the left wing before firing a shot back across and into the left side of the goal. Both sides had their chances but the visitors held on for the points.
