Grace and I got the 11:27 train from Lime Street to Manchester Piccadilly and switched from Platform 14 to Platform 2 to get the train to Ashburys station, followed by a 15 minute walk to the ground. We arrived at the ground at 1pm and stood waiting for the City coach to arrive by the Colin Bell Stand West Reception for 15 minutes. They had 2 DJs playing music and giving away goodies. When the coach arrived, very low key with players just walking straight through without acknowledging the fans.
We walked around the stadium when Grace ate a free vegetarian hot dog which she enjoyed. The ground lacked genuine atmosphere and far from a sell out with lots of spaces in pockets of the ground. The game was a procession but at the final whistle only 20% of the fans were left clapping their team.
We got the 17:20 train from Ashburys to Manchester Piccadilly and back on Platform 14 for the train to Liverpool Lime St back for 18:28 and Elaine picked us up.
