Staying at Fritham so made sense to do this one by train from Brockenhurst. Blistering hot day and train ride horrible 9full of youngsters heading to the beach). Tough walk of around 45 minutes to the stadium which is outside the town. Once inside it was okay though. A bit run down and scruffy but I''ve seen worse. Only irritation was no hot food on the very day I''d not had breakfast and was planning for a solid brunch at the ground.
The game itself wasn''t great but still enjoyable enough as Weymouth headed for their third straight defeat (out of 3) at the beginning of the season.
Just before half time I discovered my planned train back had been cancelled giving me a straight choice before leaving immediately to catch the earlier one or be hanging around until late. Easy decision.
Wandered back to the station via Weymouth centre (utterly horrible) then train to Brockenhurst (even nastier than the way out) then drive back to Fritham.
With no food in the house I headed to the local pub which had a fish and chip van parked outside only to find out there was a 75 minutes wait for food. And the bar was queuing out into the car park. Gave up and grumped off home.
Not one of my most enjoyable days but another one ticked off (even though at this time they look like nailed on certs for relegation)
