MABI MATCH REPORT Posted on: Thu 24 Jul 2008 MABI 0 Bristol Rovers 4 (Klein-Davies, 19, 59, 80, 83) Striker Josh Klein-Davies scored all four goals as Rovers won 4-0 in Malmo tonight. The home side didn't really pose a threat to a well organised Rovers defence, ably marshalled by Craig Hinton, and Mike Green didn't have a serious save to make all night. However MABI worked hard all evening and made a relatively young Rovers side wotk hard for their victory. Goalkeeper Mike Green and defender Tom Parrinello, along with midfielder James Fraser were included in the starting lineup for the game against Malmo Analodu BL tonight. Article continues Advertisement Craig Hinton skippered the side and there was a welcome return to the starting lineup for defender Ryan Green, the first time he had started a game for Rovers since last November. Although there was a slight breeze in the air, it was hot and humid out on the lush playing surface and both sides tried to play a passing game in the opening stages. Rovers keeper Mike Green was the first of the two custodians to be called into action but, unfortunately, as he came to gather a cross he clattered his team mate Byron Anthony who required treatment from physio Phil Kite before being allowed to continue. Andy Williams and Sean Rigg both had chances for Rovers, but Williams saw his shot blocked by Klein-Davies and Rigg fired over the bar. However Klein-Davies gave Rovers the lead on 19 minutes when he raced on to Ryan Green's superb ball down the right, and rifled a shot past Edon Gashi. Johan Akesson shot over the bar at the other end, but Williams and james Fraser went close to increasing the lead for Rovers. Williams was denied by Gashi, who dived at the striker's feet to smother his shot, whils Fraser headed just over after playing a one two with Ryan Green. The home side did enjoy spells of possession, but didn't trouble Mike Green, who never had a shot to save in the opening 45 minutes. Full back Tom Parrinello was booked in the final minute of the half after a rash challenge on Fredrik Nilsson. Klein-Davies added a second goal on 59 minutes, when he headed home a cross from Andy Williams. Rovers then lost Parrinello who was injured when tackled from behind by Alexanderr Nunes Cona, who picked up a yellow card for his efforts. Riogg then played in Williams, but a defender's outstretched foot deflected his effort behind for a corner, before Klein-Davies completed his hat trick, when he hit a shot into the top corner from Rigg's pass. The striker added his, and Rover's fourth goal sevenminutes from time, when he knocked home a cross from Chris Lines. Team: Mike Green, Ryan Green (Jeff Hughes, 62), Byron Anthony, Craig Hinton, Tom Parrinello (Aaron Lescott, 62), David Pipe, James Fraser, Craig Disley (Chris Lines, 46), Sean Rigg, Andy Williams, Josh Klein-Davies.
