Spent the day at The National Stud in Newmarket. Then dropped Suey off at an apartment in Cambridge before heading down to Colchester. Blinkin'' freezin'' cold. Excellent parking arrangements and very nice stadium: modern, compact and good to look out from outside and in. Shame about a meagre crowd but - as soon as the so-called football start - we could understand it. Colchester were a shambles: disorganised, poor and mostly lazy. The loss was an inevitability from the kick off and only the abject ineptitude of Notts County left the winning goal so late. all in all a miserable spectacle but still great fun and we laughed throughout. Drove back to Colchester just in time for me to have a bottle of Trooper (from last weekend''s visit to the Robinsons Brewery in Stockport) and so to bed and blessed sleep.
