The game I attended was a pre-season friendly: AFC Wimbledon v Portsmouth.
I was unable to enter the details of that game on this platform, so had to choose a Wimbledon home game a month later, in order to register Plough Lane (new) as my 72nd ground. My thoughts on the Portsmouth game follow below:
Ground is well hidden among blocks of flats. You have to be standing right in front of it to see it. It''s a relatively new ground, and apart from being overlooked on all sides by flats, it was neat and tidy, comfortable with good sightlines, so well done to the club.
Stewards were helpful.
Pompey fans numbered 1,215 in this attendance out of 3,000 over all.
Disappointing game. Pompey had a mix-and-match side for this pre-season friendly. No Bishop, Pack, Raggett etc.
Only Poole, Towler and Ogilvie played reasonably well. New boy Kusini Yengi came on from the bench but got little or no service so it was hard to assess him. Stevenson had a game to forget - generally poor throughout, and scored the only goal of the game: it was an o.g.!!
