Best laid plans. Drama started the previous day when i found my car with a knackered front tyre half an hour before i was supposed to be travelling to Harrogate on the supporters coach. Long story that panned out well but had me up until 3AM with a 24hour tyre guy. An early start was planned to pick up two friends however one dropped out leaving a slight detour to Manchester for the other. With Bishop''s struggling this season and losing the reverse fixture last week i expected a home win, the first 20 minutes gave no indication what was to follow in wet and blustery conditions. All of a sudden the visitors woke up scoring a low daisy cutter from outside the box as they had wave upon wave of attacks however sports equalised on the stroke of halftime through an excellent freekick into the top corner. We thought the impetus would be with the hosts but another low shot through a crowded box restored the visitors lead early in the second half. The game changed with a harsh sending off for Stortford. The linesman flagged in what seemed a 50/50 battle with an angled run on the edge of the box, the ref didn''t seem up with play but still decided it warranted a red for being the last man? Shortly afterwards it was 2-2 with a header but the visitors looked undaunted and continued to threaten and at least earn a point however in the 89th minute Sports scored another header to apparently steal the points. Hang about though! Their was still time for a penalty award to the visitors to surely secure a deserved point but the keeper guessed right and saved. Almost immediately they broke away and slotted home a fourth deep into the five minutes added time flattering the hosts.
