Curious location for a ground. It is approached along a road in an ugly industrial estate, but behind the Main Stand was a farmer''s field being ploughed by a tractor, with a clear view through to distant hills!
The ground was decent for the 4th tier of Scottish football. All the terracing was in good order.
On the advice of a friend (from Forfar) I enjoyed a couple of ''bridies'' for which Forfar is famous, apparently. They are a sort of pastie, in short-crust pastry. Archie Knox was in the crowd, the former assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at Man Utd and Aberdeen, and to Walter Smith at Rangers and Everton.
Not the 5-4 result I was hoping for but not a bad second half, with Forfar looking much better after the interval. Behind 0-1 at Half Time Russell McLean netted twice to give Forfar a vital 3 points which ensured that relegation would be avoided.
