Liked the ground. The side stands were both sizeable, and mine, the Don Rogers Stand, raked up up at a steep angle giving an excellent viewing position. Curiously there were no stadium announcements at any time, so you had to guess who the subs were and who had scored the goals!
It was Ian Holloway''s first game in charge as Swindon manager. Colchester were marginally the better side in the first half, but Swindon created the more, and better, chances in the 2nd half. Yet they were 1-0 down with 7 minutes to play, before a young sub, Joel McGregor, whacked one in along the ground to equalise. Kabongo Tshimanga scored Swindon''s winner in extra time.
Considering the low league positions of both sides the game was surprisingly good. It was never a dirty game but the ref issued 9 yellow cards anyway.
Good win for the Robins who were 90th in the league at kick off. Hopefully they will move up the league under their new manager. Their best player was right-back Sobowale.
PS Colchester were 89th at kick-off...
