Stayed in Liverpool Posh Pad. Uber to ground but couldn''t get there due to road closures and traffic so had to walk the last bit. Tickets in the Village Street with inclusive beer/wine and a single meal voucher.
Stadium looks fabulous from the outside (especially with the sun setting in a cloudless sky) and the inside is plush and cleverly thought out. The arena within is impressive too with a real feel of closeness the the action. But sad to say, it is nowhere near as awe-inspiring as the Tottenham Stadium so to some extent (for me) was a bit of a let-down. The crowd was also disappointing with long periods of near silence making it easy to understand why Everton home record has been so underwhelming this season.
Game pretty good but Burnley were awful - especially int eh second half - and Everton should have been out of sight by sixty minute. But they weren''t.
After the game we went back to the Village Street (Dixie Deans bar) and watched Liverpool getting beaten by bottom team Wolves much to the delight of the Everton fans around us. Then is was walk, uber back to the centre and a hunt for something to each. Praise be to McDonalds that we took back to the apartment and gobbled down (cold chips and all).
Matt had lost his phone in the Uber but managed to get it back.
