Comments :
Forest win 3-1 on penalties With the team unable to be separated during 120 minutes of this FA Cup Fifth Round replay, it was decided by a penalty shoot-out. Although Tottenham had the early chances, it was Forest who took the lead. Teddy Sheringham, David Howells and Chris Armstrong all had opportunities to score, but in the ninth minute, Bryan Roy ran through the Spurs defence to slot the ball home. It was a fine free-kick from Sheringham that brought Tottenham level in the 33rd minute. With Spurs again having the majority of the goal-scoring chances in the second half, it was disappointing that in extra time Ronny Rosenthal's shot was cleared off the line by Stuart Pearce and Steve Slade's late shot hit the post, meaning the game went to a shoot-out. Unfortunately for Spurs, Pearce scored the first penalty, while Mark Crossley beat out Clive Wilson's effort. Ian Walker stopped Roy's kick and then Rosenthal's shot was stopped before Ian Woan and Ruel Fox both converted theirs. Steve Chettle slotted past Walker and Teddy Sheringham had to score his penalty to keep Tottenham in the match, but Crossley once more saved a Spurs FA Cup penalty to seal their exit form the competition. Teams : Spurs - Walker, Campbell, Edinburgh (Nethercott 107), Calderwood, Mabbutt (c), Howells, Wilson, Fox, Rosenthal, Sheringham, Armstrong (Slade 107) Unused sub. : - Thorstvedt Notts Forest - Crossley, Lyttle, Pearce, Haaland (Phillips 68), Chettle, Woan, Gemmill, Bart-Williams, Stone (McGregor 105), Campbell (J. Lee 120), Roy. Unused sub. : - Fettis Attendance : - 31,055
