I drove myself there from our flat in Richmond not long after passing my driving test in the Renault 6 and Howard Jones'' ''New Song'' played on the radio. I was both surprised and delighted that the difference in class which Brentford had as a Third Division side was so apparent and resulted in a 6-0 game.
