Had a great afternoon out dispite the score. Never expected to be leading from the first leg so went to the Emirates in high sprits. Got the early train with Beesley, Fairsy, Chad and his sister Liz. We had a couple of beers in Hamilton Hall, then Kings Cross before heading to Arsenal. When we got to the away pub it was heaving so they wouldnt let anybody else in. After nipping to Tesco for a few cans we spoke to Ed who mentioned a number of people were jumping the back garden fence. After also doing this we drank our cheap cans in the pub garden which was handy. One poor boy managed to fall from the top of the 6ft fence and land on his head. I ve never seen a bump like it come up in about 5 seconds - he was really dazzed.
We managed to hold out for 60 minutes and created one or two efforts but it was really backs to the wall. Unfortunately once one went in the second soon follwed and then we had to attach. Fabregas caught us on the break and it finished 3-0. 9000 Ipswich fans turned up and it was a great atmosphere. We left a few minutes early and after a huge walk to Finsbury Park we managed to get the 10.30 to Ipswich which was handy.
