My two beloved teams (well Watford were beloved to me in those days, anyway). I couldn''t miss this match for anything, so I wasn''t going to let an in-growing toenail that had been operated on in Erith Cottage Hospital just that very lunchtime, stop me! My dear Mum came with me that night, and that was the first time I ever sat down at a match at The Valley in the old West Stand. A forgettable match in so many ways, but just being there that evening meant so much to me.
