Again went with Lee after work. Unfortunately got held up at Haverhill on a Tescos development and had to ask Lee to get the train to Newmarket which made his trip slightly more interesting! Had a pretty uneventful journey there and managed to aprk on the street just five minutes away. Brought some chips from a real Northern chip shop and a programme from a young boy in a suit which was rather impressive. Stanley have been told they must pay the Taxman £308,000 in eight weeks or risk being closed down so there is a big fund raising effort which raised the usual average crowd of 1500 to 3228 which was great. There were loads of Bury, Rochdale and Blackburn fans there helping out and the BBC were there filming Bury fans for their Saturday night goals programme. If I had of known I would have worn my Town top and been on TV for sure. It was quite a good game and Stanley deserved to win 2-1 on their first half chances. Again a pretty uneventful journey home apart from a mad rush at McDonalds 30 seconds before closing at Peterborough Extra when it appeared the employees were idiots and all their mates who were customers.

Went with Rob to this game, after leaving off work early I had to get a train to Bury only for Rob to say could I stay on until Newmarket, not being a direct train I had to get off at Bury and buy another ticket wait 20 minutes and then go on a crappy single carriage train to Newmarket! Rob picked me up in the high street and off we set on this long journey. Trip went generally well although the final leg of the journey seemed to take ages! Rob was annoyed once again at me spending a part of the journey asleep. Found a cash point in Accrington which was a bit of a dump with surely more pubs than anywhere? Parked up and got some chips before going into the ground. The BBC were doing a feature on the clubs debt plight outside the entrance and there was a load of neutral fans all helping Accrington to try and raise the £308,000 needed to stay in existence. The Stanley fans behind the goal were very loud and creating a decent atmosphere. The ground was pretty poor generally with 2 sides not developed at all. The game was decent, Stanley were all over Darlington in the first half and deserved more than a 1 goal cushion. In the 2nd half Darlington equalised and it was like a typical game of 2 halfs, unil Stanley broke and scored a very good headed winner. Made good time out of Accrington and it wasn't long before I was asleep again! We had a stop at a McDonalds on the way back where the staff and his mates seemed to be trying to run a commedy show. Got back in reasonable time and another good one off the list.
