Match no. 1262. Stevenage paid the price for a 12-minute spell before half-time during which they defended like particularly immobile statues and turned round 3-0 down. A much improved second-half performance brought about a stirring fight back that almost, but not quite, rescued a point. This was only the second time I''ve ever seen Doncaster play and, by coincidence, the previous occasion was exactly 41 years ago to the day: Match no. 355 - Tottenham Hotspur v Doncaster Rovers - Football League Cup 5th round - 3.12.1975. Rovers lost that one 7-2! And 50 years ago today I saw a goalless draw between Arsenal and Burnley at Highbury (Match no. 26).
