Sat in East Stand. Bought a complimentary ticket for £7.50 but had to leave early with the score at 1-1 to get to Barnsley on time, which I did (just).

First league game of the season and full hospitality in the Platinum Lounge (with Jack). Very very expensive for what it was but fun nonetheless. early kick off (12:15) so breakfast before and a (tiny) pie after with Guinness and red wine to wash it all down.
Good exciting and enjoyable match but Sheffield poor (again - like they were at Burton in preseason) and didn''t deserve to get anything from the game.
Left soon after to get to the Sheffield Tap (on Sheffield station) for perhaps a couple too many beers before train back to Whitchurch and a stumble to the Black Bear for the beer that broke the camel''s back.
For the record, Bramall Lane is a really nice ground. Old but still serviceable and it feel intense with the stands all the way round without gaps. Sadly, for this match, it was nowhere near full but the atmosphere was still good. I would love to be there in a capacity crowd one day perhaps.
